Latin American Conference on Traditional Architecture and Urbanism 2026

In collaboration with INTBAU Latin America, "The Contemporary Classical City" will be presented

The Latin American Conference on Traditional Architecture and Urbanism brings together architects, urban planners, academics and students committed to building more humane, coherent cities rooted in their cultural identity.

Under the theme "The Contemporary Classical City", the meeting proposes to reflect on the relevance of traditional urbanism in the current context of Latin America: how the principles of order, beauty and harmony can dialogue with contemporary needs to create sustainable, habitable and deeply meaningful urban environments.

Through presentations, panel discussions, and case studies, the conference will explore examples of cities that integrate tradition and innovation, as well as strategies to recover civic sense, human scale, and local character in 21st-century architecture.
