Frequently Asked Questions:
For the cost of this single course they are announcing today, will I be able to learn to design in the five classical orders?
Yes: there is a proven methodology that allows you to learn to design with the five classical orders, as architects did for centuries from the Greeks and Romans to the Neoclassical period, in a record time of 20 lecture hours (plus the hours it takes for students to complete the exercises, which varies from person to person).
What are the five classical orders of Architecture?
By their time of appearance, these are: Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Tuscan, and Composite.
With this single course that you are announcing today, will I also be able to learn to design in the so-called historicist revival styles, such as Neo-Gothic, Neo-Baroque, Californian Colonial, Neo-Indigenous, for example?
Not necessarily, although people with a lot of design skill and great intuition will be able to achieve it, but typically, with this single course, you will learn to design in pure Neoclassical style; later, we will offer a repertoire of additional courses, each 20 hours long, to learn to design in the mentioned styles and more. You will be able, after this, to take one or several extra courses later, depending on your design interests.
Can I take the course if I am not in Mexico?
Yes. Since it's online, as long as you connect during the course hours, you can participate in it, no matter where you are in the world.
Will the classes be in Spanish?
Yes. The classes will be 100% in Spanish.
What materials are required for the course?
Set of squares (set square and bevel); compass; ruler (or scale); graphite pencils of different grades; optional: colored pencils and/or markers.
What days and at what times will the classes be?
Saturdays, March 14, 21, 28, and April 11, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm Mexico City time.
Who organizes the course?
It is a project managed by the ULSA CDMX Coordination of Linkage that arises through a
interinstitutional collaboration effort: INTBAU Mexico / Classic Planning Institute / ASINEA / FaMADyC (Architecture, Environmental Design, and Communication) / GIDi of the Research Line in
History of Architecture ULSA CDMX.
